Quality, Durable Options for Tooth Crowns in Gosnells

Dental Crowns are custom made tooth-shaped “caps” that are placed over broken or damaged teeth to restore them to their former glory. Crowns will restore the shape and integrity of a tooth and improve its visual appearance.

Our dentists offers beautiful, quality crowns that can help you keep your smile healthy for years to come.

Depending on the tooth that needs to be treated, most crowns are made of durable porcelain materials. The exact colouration and shape of the crown mimic the appearance of other teeth so that it blends in with your smile.

When Are Crowns Necessary?

Some of the most common situations where a crown may be needed in place of a filling include

  • Reinforcing a tooth that has been treated with a root canal, due to the brittleness of the enamel
  • Replacing a larger, older filling that is beginning to leak or crack
  • Covering a tooth that has a large area of decay
  • Preventing additional trauma from grinding and clenching
  • Serving as a cover over dental implants

What ShouldI Expect?

Most crown treatments take about two visits to complete. First, our Gosnells dentist will remove the damaged portion of your tooth, so that only healthy structure is left behind. Next, we will take an impression of the tooth and then cover it with a temporary crown.

We use the impression to have a custom crown created in our lab. About two weeks later, we will remove the temporary crown and bond the permanent one into place. before you leave, we might make any minor adjustments to the crown, to ensure a comfortable bite that maintains harmony with your other teeth.

FAQ

A dental crown is a custom-made “cap” that fits over a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its shape, strength and appearance. We often recommend a crown when a filling is no longer enough, after root-canal treatment, or where a tooth is at high risk of cracking.

Typically, the process involves two visits. First, we’ll prepare the tooth (remove decay, shape it), make an impression, and place a temporary crown. Then once the permanent crown is ready, we’ll fit and cement it, adjust the bite and ensure you’re comfortable.

Crowns may be made from porcelain, ceramic, metal or porcelain-fused-to-metal. Tooth-coloured options (like porcelain or ceramic) offer excellent aesthetics, especially for front teeth. Metal crowns are highly durable for back teeth. During your consultation we’ll help you pick the best material for your situation.

With good care, a crown can last many years. Regular brushing, flossing and dental check-ups are essential. Avoid using teeth as tools or chewing very hard objects. If your bite feels off or the crown feels loose, let us know right away.

Cost varies depending on the tooth’s condition, material chosen and complexity of the case. At our clinic we offer flexible payment options so you can spread the cost just ask during your consultation and we’ll explain what works for you.
